Meanwhile, the Raptors finished January with an 8-7 record, their first winning month since November 2023—a small silver lining in an up-and-down season.

The turning point came in the third quarter. Toronto was up 64-63 after a Barrett layup, but Matas Buzelis took over, scoring seven points in an 18-8 Bulls run that left the Raptors trailing 88-74 heading into the fourth.

One of the biggest gaps? Bench scoring. Chicago’s second unit outscored Toronto’s 50-32, making it an uphill battle the Raptors couldn’t climb.
