Ottawa Passes to the TELUS Semi-final for the First Time

In Leg 2 of Series 3 of the TELUS Canadian Championship, Atlético Ottawa edged York United to reach the semifinals for the first time.

Seven Goals Night

York United came out fuego at York Lions Stadium—Altobelli chipped the keeper early and the crowd was feeling it. Ottawa hit back quick, but York kept swinging. Altobelli and Ferrin brought it level at 3-3, and just when it felt like extra time was calling, boom—90+2, penalty for Ottawa. The stadium went full silencio. Off the bench, Sissoko stepped up and ripped a right-footed golazo to kill the vibe.

But this was Sam Salter’s night. Two goals, one assist, and puro control up top. He had York’s defenders dancing all night. With the 4-3 win (6-4 on aggregate), Atlético Ottawa books their first-ever trip to the TELUS Canadian Championship semis. Seven goals, and fútbol canadiense on a wonderful summer night.

Velada con Siete Goles
