Monterrey dominates Forge FC and knocks them out of the Concachampions with a crushing home victory. For Canada, Cavalry and Whitecaps still alive.

Tan imponente como su estadio fue el equipo de Monterrey, que en casa no tuvo piedad contra un Forge FC que se vio superado en todos los aspectos. A pesar de un inicio esperanzador con un disparo al travesaño de Tristán Borges al minuto 12, la realidad golpeó rápido a los canadienses. Cinco minutos después, el mismo Borges cometió una falta que derivó en un tiro libre donde Berterame abrió el marcador. La defensa de Forge dejó espacios y reaccionó con lentitud, facilitando el dominio de los Rayados.

Monterrey Overpowers Forge FC to Advance in Concachampions

Monterrey imposed its dominance at home, eliminating Forge FC from the Concachampions with a commanding performance. The Canadian side started with promise, as Tristán Borges struck the crossbar in the 12th minute. However, just five minutes later, Borges committed a foul that led to a free kick, allowing Berterame to open the scoring. From there, Forge struggled defensively, leaving gaps that Monterrey exploited with ease.

By halftime, the 3-0 aggregate score left Forge with a mountain to climb. Despite their resilience, the second half turned into a nightmare. Cortizo extended the lead before Berterame, absent in the first leg, sealed his brace to complete the rout. With the loss, Forge exits in the first round of the tournament.

Now, all eyes in Canada turn to Cavalry FC, who hold a first-leg advantage and will look to make history on February 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
