905 Derby Ends Level at 2-2

York United and Forge FC Share Points 2-2 in the first 905 Derby of the Canadian Premiere League 2025 Season.

905 Derby energy at York Lions Stadium. York United and Forge FC played out a 2-2 draw at York Lions Stadium in the 905 Derby, with all four goals coming in the first half. Both teams scored inside the first 15 minutes, setting a fast pace. Then, York United took the lead in the 29th minute when Julian Altobelli danced through defenders and was brought down in the box by Forge’s Babouli, earning a penalty that Altobelli finished calmly for 2-1. Forge quickly responded just four minutes later, also winning a penalty of their own after a handball in the box, and Brian Wright made no mistake to level it at 2-2. The second half had fewer chances, with York’s Capi Oswaldo León coming close on a corner but sending his shot over. Neither side could find a winner, and the points were shared. York United will return to York Lions Stadium next Friday, May 2, to face Cavalry FC.
